Occupational Medicine Expertise Dr. Zain Vally is board-certified in occupational medicine with specialized training in workplace injuries, occupational diseases, and return-to-work coordination. This expertise ensures you receive treatment specifically designed for work-related injuries.
Workers’ Comp System Knowledge We’ve worked with virtually every workers’ compensation insurance carrier in Hawaii. We understand their documentation requirements, authorization processes, and how to advocate for our patients when disputes arise.
Neighbor Island Focus With clinics on Big Island, Maui, and Kauai, we bring specialized occupational medicine care to Hawaii’s neighbor islands. You don’t need to travel to Oahu for expert workers’ compensation treatment.
Direct Insurance Billing We bill your workers’ compensation insurance carrier directly. You won’t receive bills for covered services, and you won’t need to pay out of pocket and wait for reimbursement.
Return-to-Work Coordination We work closely with employers when appropriate to understand your job’s physical demands and coordinate a safe return to work that protects your health while getting you back to earning full wages.
Do I need a referral to see a workers’ comp doctor? No. Under Hawaii law, you have the right to choose your own treating physician for a work-related injury. You do not need a referral from your employer or their insurance company.
Will I have to pay out of pocket for workers’ comp treatment? For approved workers’ compensation claims, we bill your employer’s insurance carrier directly. You should not receive bills for covered medical services related to your workplace injury.
What is a WC-2 form? Form WC-2 is the Physician’s Report required by Hawaii’s workers’ compensation system. We complete and submit this form within seven days of your first visit, documenting your injury, diagnosis, and treatment plan.
How long do I have to report a workplace injury in Hawaii? You should report your injury to your employer immediately. Hawaii law requires you to notify your employer of a work injury within a reasonable time, and delays can jeopardize your claim.
Can I see my regular doctor for a work injury? You may, but workers’ compensation injuries often require specialized occupational medicine expertise. Our physicians are specifically trained in workplace injuries, WC documentation requirements, and return-to-work coordination.
What if my workers’ comp claim is denied? Contact us. We can review your case and provide the medical documentation needed to support your claim. Our detailed records and understanding of Hawaii workers’ compensation law often help resolve disputes.
Do you treat out-of-state workers injured in Hawaii? Yes. We regularly treat mainland workers injured while working in Hawaii, as well as Hawaii residents injured while working on the mainland. We can work with out-of-state insurance carriers and case managers.
How long will my workers’ comp treatment take? Treatment duration varies based on your injury severity and type. Some injuries resolve in weeks with conservative care, while others require months of treatment. We provide realistic timelines during your evaluation.
What happens if I can’t return to my old job? If your injury prevents you from returning to your previous position, we can provide vocational rehabilitation recommendations and work with the workers’ compensation system to explore alternative employment options.
Do you accept OWCP claims for federal workers? Yes. We specialize in OWCP claims and work directly with Department of Labor case managers. We understand federal workers’ compensation requirements and complete all necessary DOL forms.
